Our passion is their Voice

We hope you understand!

Due to some recent changes with our President & Founder, we are temporarily closed until further notice. We will be back by 2021.

Our Mission

Tails within Texas Rescue is a 501(c)(3), non-profit, 100% volunteer based animal rescue that focuses on placing; homeless, neglected or abused dogs in Central Texas and surrounding areas.

Our goal is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds and place them in loving homes. Tails within Texas was created especially to help fill a need in the local rescue world for shelter dogs whose time is up. We believe every dog deserves a second chance at finding a forever home.

We strive to help educate the community in being responsible pet owners and help families with their dog when they have no other options. We treat each dog we rescue as an extension of our own family. We will continue to rescue until their is no need.

Petsmart (10a-3p)- we do not attend every Saturday!

San Marcos, Texas

In process

We received our fur baby Charlie almost two months ago and are still in love. Jessica was accommodating with allowing us to see him and the other puppies whenever we could and made sure that we knew his progress as he became old enough to adopt. She sent photos and text messages letting us know how his personality was developing. He was already accustomed to being around people and other animals, making the transition from Jessica’s home to ours with a cat easy. He is sweet tempered and, while a puppy I am grateful for him every day.

Adopted Charlie 2019

"Jessica Nusbaum is a wonderful and caring dog lover. We adopted an older dog from her (“General”) that she rescued from a San Antonio shelter, who turned out to be the sweetest dog we have ever had. The dog was better than she had told us. It is very apparent that she really cares deeply about dogs and has their best interests at heart. She has even visited General just to stay connected and see her dog."

Adopted General May 30, 2016

We met Jessica through a post on our local Facebook page- she had two puppies up for adoption that she had rescued at 1 day old. She was candid about making sure they each went to the right family- since she had vested interest in their well being. To say we could feel her love and kindness is not an exaggeration. She bottle fed our Hazel from day 1 and gave her a great beginning. We couldn't have asked for a sweeter, smarter, more engaging puppy. I truly believe it's due to the care and love she received when she was rescued. We are truly thankful for Jessica and her work with saving dogs- she gave us a chance to share our love with a new member of our furever family.
